The Shining Sophomores Roger Helmick Pat Knobbe Shell Slominski The Sophomore class of 1983-84 was small, but raised a lot of money. The biggest money-raisers for them were setting up the concession stands at Junior-High games, serv- ing at various banquets and popping popcorn at High School games. They also had their cake raffles and their days of cleaning Jug Brown Stadium. But, the highlight for them was the ordering of class rings. Various stones and backgrounds were cho- sen and the suspense built till they got them. Another addition to this class was a German foreign exchange student from Bonn. She stayed this school year with Matt Froeschl's home and learned a lot of American customs just as we learned many German customs. From all the work they put into this year - they proved they’ll be a great asset in their last two years at Sacred Heart. Leaders for the Sophomore class this year were, left to right: Joe Dixon, President: Shell Slominski, Vice-President: and Tom Gerdes, Secretary-Treasurer. 6
