Happiness Is: A Trip To State For the first time since 1974, the Sacred Heart boys' basketball team reached the state tournament. By defeating the Sterling Jets in D-1 regional action, the Irish earned a chance to go up against the Nelson Tigers. A special pep rally was held for the boys, and they were escorted out of town on their way to Lincoln by Mayor Dale Shaffer. Although the Irish fell to the Tigers in the opening round, 49-44, this was a very exciting experience for all involved. The support and enthusiasm shown by fans was very inspiring, and is a sure sign that It's Great to be Irish! ■ 26
