Steve Hoy, and Henry Silva John Froeschl is not pictured The 1981 football season proved to be very successful. The Irish team came away with a 5-3 record. Much skill was shown at all times on the field, and many underclassmen gained valuable experience that will aid them in their future years at Sacred Heart. For the second year in a row. the Irish traveled to Meridian to play an eight-man game. Although they bowed to the hosts, this was an important game as the Galaxy Conference Southern Division will turn to eight-man football next year. Team captains Dave Knobbe and Jeff Oliver led the Irish throughout the season, and Steve Hoy was named the Galaxy All-Conference first team for his performances on the squad.
