The Irishettes ended the year with a 1-15 record, but the squad held both their heads and spirits high throughout the entire season. Denise KirkendaH was the Head Coach of the girls this year. Under her leadership, and that of assistant coach Linda Uher. the Irish girls fought hard. At the end of their basketball year, every Irish team member had earned a letter as a result of her efforts on the team, and Kathy Nichols was named to the Galaxy All-Conference second team. Theresa Knobbe, and student manager Lisa Keller The 1981 vollebyall season may have ended a bit dissappoint- ingly, but the Irishettes maintained pride and enthusiasm throughout the entire year. Under the direction of Coach Linda Uher and the leadership of four returning lettermen, the team played each game with greater determination than the game before Many young Irish volleyballers gained valuable experience that will aid them in their future yedrs dt Sacred Heart. The Varsity squad wrapped things up with a 1-11 record, while the Reserve team finished with a 7-2 season. Jan Fleskoski was honored by being named to the Galaxy All-Conference first team at the end of the season.
