Speech Class Presents Classic Play At the start of the play, Candide tells Cunegunde his opinion of love. In the Galaxy One-Act Play Contest, the Sacred Heart play received an excellent score. In the jungles of the Amazon, an argument forces Candide to knock out Eric with a bag of marshamallows while Paquette panics. With fame in their eyes, the Speech class of Sacred Heart decided to present a classic play to both Sacred Heart students and at the Galaxy One-Act Play Contest. The play was entitled, “What Ever This Is, We're all In It Together. The story is about a naive boy named Candide who finds out, through his adventures, that it takes more than an education to know the world; it takes experience. The cast included Norb Silva as Candide, Rhonda Roettger as Cun- egunde, Rob Roettger as Professor Pangloss, Lisa Keller as Paquette, Mary Taft as Serafina and Todd Scheitel as Eric. In the make-up room, some actors await anxiously for show time, while final make-up touches are being made on other actors of the play. Candide reads aloud to Cunegunde and Paquette the reason why this is the best of all possible worlds. However, little do they know that a war is about to commence in their midst. 27

SH Sparkles in “Diamond Studs Music students at Sacred Heart displayed their acting abilities as they presented the musical Diamond Studs. The musical was based on the life of Jesse James, the outlaw, and his notorious gang. Under the leadership of Theresa Lesiak the musical drew great reviews and was billed a success. In the pictures, starting at the upper left and going clockwise; Aunt Zerelda (Jeff Oliver) and Pappy (Pat Olberding) boogie to the music in These Southern States that I love. ; Wicher (Chris Rathman) staggers after a deadly shot by )esse (Doug Goltz); Belle Starr (Kathy Nichols) shows Cole (Jeff Oliver) that she doesn’t Need a Man to Know She's Good. ; Jim Younger (Steve Frocschl), Frank James (Don Strecker) and Bob Younger (David Kopetzky) sing with the rest of the cast in Jesse James Robbed this Train.
