S 0 HIIG HMI SHALONI The Sacred Heart Academy League of Missions, otherwise known as SHA- LOM, is a very busy club. Its main goal is to help the missions by collecting money from student donations. The club also collects money through other activities, such as paperdrives, bake sales, and auctions. SHALOM sponsored their annual pa- perdrive October 13-15. They collect- ed old newspapers that people had saved. These were then sold to recy- cling plants and the money given to the missions. At Thanksgiving time,SHALOM asked each homeroom to assemble a Thanksgiving basket . This basket was filled with food for a Thanksgiving meal for a poor family. The club also held a Christmas party for poor children. All SHA students were asked to donate old toys or games to give to the children. limi . Led by Griffin's president,Todd Hunter and Sa- cred Heart's president, Noreen Kane, Pep Club was a big success. Banners made by the students who came to the meetings added life to the basketball and football games. The club also pro- vided buses for the out-of-town football games, a project which turned out to be a big success. Pep Club meetings were usually held on Wednesday even- ings at Griffin.
