.,.:f9 Sister Virginia Dever s Performing Arts Classes were two groups ln the fine arts department at Sacred Heart Academy One of the classes was made up of fresh men the other sophomores and upper classmen The classes consisted of three branches drama speech and Stage Techs The freshmen put on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and the other class presented Up the Down Staircase These productions took a lot of time and effort on the parts of Sister Virginia and her students Both groups competed In speech con tests bringing home many wmners while a third branch of the Performing Arts group Stage Techs worked back stage They learned to use the stage equipment and donated their services for all stage shows The two classes not only learned drama speech and stage work but also learned to work together as a group 0 eff '94 5 J' A dramatic scene from the freshmen's presentation of Snow White ww....-.. ,Qian if Jack: Hller funds studying her fingernails is more benefi- cial than studying her books 2- Pete Prala has a discussion with his Teach Janet Lewis during a scene from Up the Down Staircase

?' .40 Beth Ward sings her Song for the seniors, The Time Has Come. The Sacred Heart Miss Academy Pageant, hosted by Debbie Bob Barker Grieser and Michele Ellen O'Connell Brahler, along with the former Miss Academy, Betty Bofetty Hosteny, offered a varity of entertainment. The show included vocalists Jeannie Eck and Kim Wheeler and pianists Susan Arjmand and Brenda Creviston. Beth Ward performed a guitar solo she wrote for the Senior Class, and Chris Huck confused the audience with a tongue tying speech. Other talents were disco dancing by Brigit Kennedy and a trombone solo by Sharon Gorman Freshmen gave seniors advice on getting a Prom date with their version of the Dating Game and a group of juniors gave a slick performance of Greased Lightning The Blues Brothers Vicki Belushi Dhabalt and Jennifer Johnson even made an appearance The show was topped off with a sophomore number You re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile All the acts were winners at the Miss Academy Pageant.
