W WM MJ ,fm After a bit of compromise, Sharing a Night in the Land of Christmas was chosen as the theme of the 1979 Christmas Dance held on December 22. Decorations centered around a storybook idea. Snowmen and the North Pole were included in the foyer decorations, and the gym was also decorated to look like pages out of a Christmas storybook Even the re freshment tables carried out this de lightful theme Bids were placed in a real oldtlme storybook sleigh By hav ing two identical picture booths the usual long wait in line was happily avoided The couples were then able to spend more time dancing to the excellent music that was performed by Prime Time The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Ms Claus Mary Morrow Seniors were able to use their tickets to be eligible for the drawing that de termined this title Ms Claus atten dants were then drawn from the oth er three classes in-.i ,W M' Hr M 1.-M --'L -1-11 '-M35 f M-,.f,.,M,. Father Knows Best was the theme of the Father Daughter Dance held on February 9 and appropriately enough for it was the night for each father to have his way Hearts and lace were the perfect setting for Daddy to spend an evening with his little girl Music was provided by the Charles Roger s Orchestra with the fathers waltzmg the girls across the floor In step to the tunes However soon the soft melodies of the 50 s ballads broke into the carefree liveliness of the Bunny Hop which many girls say was the highlight of the evening. There was also some polka music a rumba or two and who could forget the jitter- bug.
