P To His Excellency, the Most Reverend James A. Griffin D. D., we Wish to express our esteem and appreciation. His untiring efforts and constant zeal shown in the cause of Cath- olic youth and Catholic educa- tion merit our deepest gratitude. Realizing that our American democracy is being threatened from without and Within, he has striven to emphasize the teachings of democracy as Well as those of Christianity in our Catholic school system. His devotion to Mary, Our Mother, is evidenced in countless ways, but especially in the beautiful building Which honors her as patroness-the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. In gratitude, we invoke Mary to obtain from her Divine Son abundant graces and blessings for our Beloved Bishop.
