1. , ,. 171.1 Y W ION it Our Lord Wishes to establish in the World devotion to my Immaculate Heart. In these few but potent Words, the Queen of Heaven presented a beautiful and simple solution to the world's problems. The story of Fatima, Where Mary uttered this truth, is a familiar one, but it can never be repeated too often, for it brings inspiration to those who are willing to accept Our Ladyis message with true faith and love. It was on May 13, 1917, that Mary, the Mother of God, appeared to three peasant children of Fatima, Portugal and in a series of six apparitions pleaded for the conver- sion of sinners and the return of souls to God. She asked that sacrifices be made and the Rosary said if We Wish to avert terrible calamities from a chaotic World and bring peace and tranquillity to it. Cognizant of Our Lady's concern and love for us, the Seniors of the Class of 1948 promise to carry out her wishes and to advocate devotion to Mary in a World that needs her so desperately. o '. --. .0 O 3 MO Q- . 00 0 - xu 9 l v...,n.ofv-vo. . Living in a world frantically struggling to adjust itself- to the turmoil of post-War conditions and recognizing the threats of Atheistic Commun- ism and World revolution, we Seniors realize that the only force which can save the World is a return to Christ through devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. By dedicating this book of memories to the Mother of God under her title of Our Lady of Fatima, We, the Class of 1948, Wish to express our fervent love and deep gratitude to our Maternal Queen for her tender guidance through all our years. We ask her to accept our DOMINICUS as a tribute to her Immaculate Heart, in the hope that it will, in some small measure, compensate for the neglect of those who are blind to her goodness and beauty. .
