As a means of accomplishing this end, various speakers were brought to the Academy. Among these were Father Murphy, speaking on lndia's Missions, Father Evans, speaking on Missionary work in the Pacific, Father Mann, speak- ing on Vocations, Frank Sheed, speaking on The Catholic Mind, Father Mc- Grath, speaking on the CYO May Day, and Miss Anita Blair, speaking on Safety. But foremost among the SSC activities of the year was the traditional crowning of the Blessed Virgin with a wreath of roses in our chapel, conse- crating the graduating class to the care of Our Lady. As the rosary was recited before our crowned Mother, each member of the consecrated class presented her with a rose, a gift prompted by love and devotion to the Queen of Queens and Mother of all,

A thrilling moment. Under the direction of Miss Vitina Sansone, able dance and aym instruc- tress, the students of SHA have prac- ticed and perfected many games, dances, marches, and qymnastics that have developed the beauty, skill, and artistry of the Academy qirls. Working for finish and finesse, diffi- cult marches and drills were executed: novelty tamborine and scarf aypsy dances, alonq with ballet routines fea- tured the grace and skill stressed by Miss Sansone in the aym classes, acro- batic stunts and outside activities of bowling, swimminq, and basketball, re- quirinq balance and timing, provided lun and frolic for all. ' Enivyinq it from the lowest even to the highest.
