On the unusually hot San Francisco morning of September 18, 2009, the SHCP student body gathered for the much anticipated Walkathon fundraiser in Golden Gate Park. This year the SHCP community came together to raise more than 2Bl'?0,000, setting a new school record. Students assembled in the Polo Fields for the 20th annual Walkathon by starting the event with the National Anthem and a prayer. Before the students embarked on their five mile journey, Big Green pumped up the student body by leading a cheering competition between the classes and a faculty relay race. All hyped up on school spirit, the Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen, lined up and began their journey around the park. After a couple of hours Walking, the students returned to the Polo Fields hungry and tired Where they enjoyed a Well deserved barbeque lunch. After feeling satisfied from a delicious meal, students looked back on an action-packed day when they helped their school community.
