N. , 1 xv 351.-M S L, ,, L, 'iw J. ,X f Brother Warren A person of high scholastic merit, Brother Warren has given to Sacred Heart not only established departments of phys- lcs and mathematics, but motivation and concern to each one of his students. Brother Warren attended Cathedral High School in Los Angeles and graduated in 1948, Although Brother Warren had to work after school, he was an active mem- ber of the newspaper, yearbook and pho- tography staff, and played one year of football. On July 3, 1948, Brother Warren entered the Christian Brothers' Mont La Selle Novitiate and was robed on January 25, 1949 with Brother Arnold. In 1953 Brother graduated from St. Mary's College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathe- matics. Brother Warren's first teaching assign- ment was at Sacred Heart until 1954 when he was transferred to St. Mary's College High School in Berkley, and became prefect of the boarders. In 1956 Brother took on the job of Athletic Director at San Joaquin High School in Fresno. Brother Warren then was given a National Science Foundation Grant and gained a Master of Science degree in education at the University of Pennsylvania in 1960. Returning again to teaching, Brother was stationed at Cathedral High School in Los Angeles in 1961, and Christian Brothers High School, Sacramento in 1962. In 1963, Brother Warren earned anomer National Science Foundation Grant to the University of Notre Dame. There he gained a Master of Science degree in Mathematics The fall of 1963 brought Brother Warren to Sacred Heart where he has been now for eleven years. Brother Warren has also traveled to all fifty states, Canada and eighteen foreign countries. What does Brother Warren consider his role at SacredHe-art to be? To prepare the students in whatever wayl can for life after high school gradu- ation whether it be college or otherwise. Since rnost of the studentsl have in class, because of the nature of the courses, end up in college. I hope they are well pre- pared for the life of a college student. I hope that they will also pick up other values that they can use throughout their Ilves. 3
