On Saturday, October lO, l953, His Excellency Archbishop Mitty formally dedicated the new Sacred Heart High School and once again placed it under the protection of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Following the dedication ceremonies, His Excellency was made an affiliated member of the Brothers of the Christian Schools by the Most Honorable Brother Denis, Vicar-General of the Institute. This honor, granted to only two others in the state of California, is given to those who have, in a particular manner, become associated with the work of the Christian Brothers, the edu- cation of boys.
