lghgniml I raining Physical Training, known to us as Hgyinf' helps to contribute to our physical Well-being. A familiar sight in school is to see girls hurrying toward the gym carrying a gym suit and sneakers in their bands. ln the winter the period's activi- ties are divided between basketball and ping pong, rotating each week so that different girls participate in different activities. in the spring, gym is usually held outdoors, weather permitting, where the girls play softball, badminton and soc- cer. There is always a variety in activities. Medi- cal check-ups, neat gym suits, dental notes and earnest participation in activities are all part of the physical training course at Sacred lleart. Svrirnrv Science is the knowledge gained and perfected hy exact ohservations and perceptive thinking. ln Sacred lleart, the Sisters give us perfect train- ing in the sciences, Beginning with the first course in Biology, and on through Physics, the student develops a skill for precise, scientific thinking. Freshmen lay their foundation for future years of science hy studying and experiinentation. The drudgery of studying ahout those infinitessiinal protozoa and amoeha seems to he unending. But is will soon fade away when, in their Junior year, they study Chemistry. Then the dissection of frogs and grasshoppers in Biology gives way to the delicate scent of hydrogen sulfide.
