SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY Forward ever backward neva, go the Sophomores under a banner of blue and srlver ln the golden month of September 1951 we welcomed our former classmates and a few new students Our class meetings were directed by Barry Stephens who for the second year held the Pres1dential gavel Relxgxon classes strengthened our Catholic llfe We studied the growth of the Catholic Church through the centuries a symbol of our growth and development through the years In blology the sometrmes astounding mysterres of nature were revealed to us Socrally our life was developed when on November I3 we sponsored an Enchanted Everung otherwise known as the Sophomore Hop Partrcipating in all school activities wlth Mary as our guide, we have advanced spiritually socially and scholasucally Now we complete a happy successful year which we shall add to the golden book of llvmg memories The sophomore class of Sacred Heart Numbers but twenty one But each and all will do hrs part Until the year IS done Mary chosen as their guide Her blue then color too In her Son they all confrde Neath a banner of stlvay hue Asking Mary to lxght the way Each deed a solemn prayer They live and learn day by day Guided by her lovrng care Forward ever on they stnve In school at play at work With youth s ambltion they contrive Theu' duty not to shirk, Mary lxke they smve to be In this Mary land Her loving Son they hope to see And heath her mantle stand THERESA BRUNER '54 ll . fl ' .
