ur rczduation Mass, Celebrated in the Leaving Sacred Heart just as they entered it, the school's graduating class celebrated their final mass together on Ascension Thursday. Despite the Feast's pouring rain, the seniors' flowing white caps and gowns still rnan- aged to appear freshly starched. After the class of '68 had marched into SHA's own gym, Father james Flynn, assisted by Father Charles Roppel, offered mass for the seniors' intentions. Assembled for the last time before graduation, the class sang to the accompaniment of Sister Mary Owen's guitar. After a quick change, the senior SHAers in their white dresses went to a 2 if 't ssl E brunch in the cafeteria served by members of NHS. ,e,, 'ff' D, I refute to wear this mp, announce: Kathy Doyle. SHA tudents limaxed on Award Da Sister George Marie began 1968's Awards Day with a statement that all students must work hard to attain scholarship as high as SHA's top five students and honor students. Senior awards were presented from the Daughters of the American Revolution for good citizenship and leadership and from the International Federation of Catholic Alumnae. Sister George Marie also honored members of the varsity debate team, French National Honor Society, winners in Science Fairs, and scholarship winners. Focusing on outstanding seniors, Awards Day culminated another successful year at SHA. ' Graduating at the head of the clan are the five top :tudentf of 1968: Anne Wood, Dehhie Hartlage, Anne Bergner, Diane Hayden, and Sue Bruning. if
