As chorus is compulsory for underclassmen, the shaking-frosh tried out for parts in the three part choral group. Juniors and seniors could also join the chorus and they faced a year of music and life appreciation, voice exercises, student concert tickets and fast schedules on concert days, and a large repertoire to memorize by the spring choral program. During this time, Mrs. Von Barkhausen put up with slumped stu- dents, wrinkled music and airy voices. All survived and hasty preparation began for the concert held April 5. This meant last minute practices, fittings on stage and no classes.
