Inter-school discussions led Youth Speaks to a suc- cessful year in speaking out on current affairs. With Jane Mudwilder acting as president and Sister Rita Marie as moderator, the united social studies and Youth Speaks group, composed of sophomores, juniors, and seniors, provided the needed forum of discussion which helps link the younger generation to the adult com- munity. Bi-monthly discussions prepared the members for the annual workshop. At this workshop, attended by 800 Louisville teens, these aware high school stu- dents broke up into small groups to discuss 'lPatriot and Protestor, can a man he both? This Workshop, the inter-school discussions, and the Youth Speaksfspon- sored volunteer works were only a few of the events which culminated a progressive year. A-gmmk H,

El Circulo Espanol Redisconerecl Spain El Circulo Espanol emphasized the life and culture of the Spanish speaking countries south of the border this year. Sister Helen Marie, moderator, and Judy Schroeder, president, collaborated to find speakers from Chile, Nicaragua, and Mexico. The members questioned these visitors about the politics and culture of the countries, convincing themselves of the vast dif- ferences between the United States and Latin America. There were also two special additions to the club. Maria Orguello, a. Latin American exchange student, and Mercy Prieto, a native Cuban, were on hand to help with accents. At the annual fiesta there were Mexican and Spanish foods as well as folk songs and dances.
