Inter-school discussions led Youth Speaks to a suc- cessful year in speaking out on current affairs. With Jane Mudwilder acting as president and Sister Rita Marie as moderator, the united social studies and Youth Speaks group, composed of sophomores, juniors, and seniors, provided the needed forum of discussion which helps link the younger generation to the adult com- munity. Bi-monthly discussions prepared the members for the annual workshop. At this workshop, attended by 800 Louisville teens, these aware high school stu- dents broke up into small groups to discuss 'lPatriot and Protestor, can a man he both? Their concept of French culture was enhanced by a movie concerning the Louvre, many slides of France and a few lively lessons in French folk dancing. French-speaking lunchtimes and Pas de Vanglais, s'il vous plaitln meetings prepared the SHAers for a seance with the active French Club of St. Xavier and for the annual production of Le Bnbillizrd, a magazine en francais.
