Interteam competition produced enthusiasm for routine practices. The Cools, Shakers and Accurates rivaled to further their bowling ability. Sharing pretzels and cokes, blushing over gutterballs, beginning to bowl with loafers still on and telling all the known jokes were as regular a feature as keeping score and cheering for strikes and spares. junior Varsity bowlers had a problem exclusive to their age group. Co-captains Becky Bruning and Trisha Bruenderman inspired enthusiasm and team work in their fellow dribblers. The team members awarded spirited jeffy Strader with the Best Sportsmanship Award. Oar JV Volleyball Team Placed Second SHA's JV Volleyball Team hit the court hard this year and captured second place in their league. To achieve this Coach Mrs. Lavada Larkins called practices every weekday of volleyball season. Co-captains Linda Huber and Martha McGrath, who were elected in the fall, did their part by inspiring and encouraging their fellow players. One of the most honored was Jamie Wadell who won the sportsmanship award for JV Volleyball 1967-1968.
