Although not league champions, the jV's were surpassed by no one in good will, determination and rousing spirit. Coached by Mrs. Roby, who will move up next year to the varsity, they zipped through the season with some losses, slamming their way into a three-way tie and coming out second-place winners. Unforgettable happenings such as illegal fires built to warm a couple of Saturday morning practices often occurred, most probably due to the plan- ning of their co-captains, Kelly I.aMaster and Mary Lawson. Another mark of their spirit was their terrific mode of transportation, the decorated car. Their season was wrapped up at the hockey banquet when Betsy Erny was presented with the sportsmanship award. Now the baby Valkyries look forward to varsity play. los Athletics

Interteam competition produced enthusiasm for routine practices. The Cools, Shakers and Accurates rivaled to further their bowling ability. Sharing pretzels and cokes, blushing over gutterballs, beginning to bowl with loafers still on and telling all the known jokes were as regular a feature as keeping score and cheering for strikes and spares. junior Varsity bowlers had a problem exclusive to their age group. The hardest part about bowling was getting there and mothers and car pools became a very important part of bowling. 1. Cools My?-27y2 2. Accurates 43M-28W 3. Strikers 39 -27
