Dear Mom and Dad, or age rw ass ay It's been so long since I wrote you a letter. The last time was when I went to camp and got so homesick. Well, I'm kind of homesick right now, but in a different sort of way. I decided to write you this letter when we were marching down the aisle this after- noon. We all looked so nice in our caps and gowns, but I looked over and saw the best looking couple-you, Mom and Dad. I guess I never fully realized what it meant to have you near me. ' Gosh, you know I'm not very ,good at sentimental words, but what I want to say is that I love you and thanks so very much for everything. Dad, thank you for riding me piggy back up to bed so many times when I was little, and for reading me bed-time stories. Thanks for taking me fishing and pitching ball to me like I was a boy, even though I still secretly knew that I was your girl. Thanks for looking at me so admiringly when you saw me in my first formal. Now, Mom, I want to thank you for all the pains you went through to bring me into this world. Thank you for teaching me my prayers and slapping my hands when I'd done something naughty. Thank you for making my First Communion dress and for going without a new dress so that I could have one. Thank you for staying up all night with Dad when I was sick. When they called my name this afternoon and Monsignor gave me my diploma, I felt like it should be your diploma and not mine. It is you who have graduated, for it is you who have truly earned it. It has been hard sending me to good Catholic schools. You did it because you wanted me to have a good education that would give me high ideals and principles. I hope you're proud of me, Mom and Dad. I hope I am worth all the trouble. I didnlt see tears in your eyes, but I knew they were there just the same because you were realizing that I'm not a little girl anymore. But, Mom and Dad, Iim a young lady, thanks to you.
