Dear Mother and Dad, The white cap and gown . . . the cherished diploma . . . the quick hug after it's all over . . . the sudden sniffles' '... graduation perhaps more than any other time makes parents realize that the long, hard job is almost over. Their children have finally reached the threshold of adulthood. This is a meaningful day for us, Mother and Dad . . . a day of achieve- ment. But compared with your efforts, graduation for us is only the first few hundred feet up the mountain. You've been climbing it since we were born, aided by the ax of self-sacrifice and the strong rope woven of patience and love. In a very real sense, this is YOUR day to be congratulated. You have achieved the great goal of sending into the world a girl whose firm Christian principles, bolstered by the example of a fine Catholic home, will be her life-long guides in shaping a better world.
