And, coincidently, so do the folks of HC-11 Det 7 . USS SACPlAlVlENTO's air detachment may leave its heart back home in San Diego but during work ups and deployment they're just another part of the Sac family. Air det's primary mission while assigned to SACRAMENTO is to rapidly disperse supplies, ammunition, passengers, and mail from the Number One AOE to the other ships of the fleet. Secondary mission parameters include the ability to perform Search and Rescue, Special Operations, and other combat-oriented missions. The two H-46D Sea Knight helicopters, six pilots Q- 3 nuggetsl, and 21 ground crew of HC-11 Det 7 are well trained for these missions and take pride in their ability to excel in all areas of specialization fsee pictures on following pagesl.
