DYER UNITED STATES NAVY Born in Oakland, California, ETCMISWXSS5 Dyer entered the Navy in February of 1972. Upon completion of Basic Training and then Quartermaster A School, he was assigned to USS OUAPAW KATF 1105 in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, where he served from 1972 to 1974. Following his tour aboard the USS OUAPAW, ETCMISWXSS5 Dyer attended signalman A School and was assigned to USS MOUNT HOOD QAE 295 from 1974 to 1977. In August of 1974 he transferred to Concord Naval Weapons Station, California, where he received his Tugmaster license. ln February 1980, ETCMISWXSS5 Dyer was honorably discharged from the Navy. In April- 1981, he reentered the Navy and was assigned to Bangor Submarine Base as a tugmaster until May 1983. He then attended Submarine School in Groton, Connecticut and was assigned to USS GROTON ISSN 6945. In September 1984 he was selected for Chief Petty Officer and transferred to the USS WHALE ISSN 6385, where he served as the Assistant Navigator. Following his tour aboard the USS WHALE, ETCMKSWXSS5 Dyer was assigned as the Assistant Navigator aboard the USS ALASKA iSSl3N 7325. From October 1989, until March 1993, he senfed as an instructor for advanced ship control at Bangor Trident Training Facility. He was then assigned to USS HENRY M. JACKSON ISSBN 7305 as Chief of the Boat. ln January 1996, Master Chief Petty Officer Dyer attended the Senior Enlisted Academy in Newport, Rhode Island. Upon graduation from the Academy, he was assigned to SIMA, Everett as Command Master Chief. In May 1997, he transferred to USS SACRAMENTO CAOE 15, where he continues to serve as the Command Master Chief. ETCMISWXSS5 Dyer is married to the former Evaline R.
