Breaking in a new system and a new coach, the Cardinals showed surprising strength in defeating Big Sandy easily, 19 to 0. The score last year was Sabine 2. Big Sandy 0. Playing their hearts out, the smaller Cardinals fell before a mighty Carlisle team, 12 to 3. Time and time again the Carlisle team was on the Sabine goal line only to lose the ball to a scrappy Cardinal aggregation that put up a brilliant defense when their goal was threatened. The score last year was 39 to 0 in favor of Carlisle. Taking the field as underdogs, Sabine put on an offensive show that had the Brownsboro lads reeling from start to finish. Scoring in every period. the Cardinals emerged 25 to 5 victors. Two touch- down plays were nullified because of penalties. The score last year-Sabine 6, Brownsboro 0. SABINE VERSUS WHITE OAK Having 21 points scored on them in the first half the Cardinals came to life in the second half and held the mighty Roughnecks to 7 points. During the 4th quarter, Sabine rose up and marched 71 yards only to have the game end as they reached White Oak's 11-yard line. Never to be forgotten was the driving power of Sabine's backs and su- perb blocking of our line. The score last year was 47 to 7. SABINE VS.
