The year of '75-'76 started out rough, as usual, for the sophomores—getting lost, forgetting locker numbers, and the frustration of checking class schedules. Autumn brought an average football season; cross country went to state- the girls basketball team gave its best. ’ Thanksgiving came and so did the first snow. Boys basketball arrived; the team fought hard. Then the long-awaited Christmas vacation came with Santa on everybody's mind. Everyone returned to school on January, 5th, sleepy eyed and bushy-tailed, but with bright spirits. The winter was mild with only one-half day missed. Valentine's Day came before we knew it; the seniors tried their best to forget that they were soon to be graduating wrestling came through and went to state, placing fifth as a team at Regionals. Spring came with flowers bloom- ing, new life, butterflies, dandelions, and young romances. Prom was a smash and the same went for graduation except perhaps for a little sadness. At last the year ended. Life went on as all looked back to the great year of 1975-1976, the celebration of the Bicentennial of America . This was a year to remember. 2

To the Class of 1976: From: J.A. Cleavinger Let me say Congratulations to the Class of 1976, individually and collectively. You are a distinguished group because your graduation year corresponds to the Bicentennial of our great United States of America. Being a Bicentennial year graduate is honorable, but only by way of your determination and education can you become a successful, worthy citizen. May each of you succeed to the utmost of your per- sonal desire. Best wishes to each of you. J. A. CLEAVINGER, Superintendt Class of 1976: My hope for you as you leave Sabetha High School is that you are able to create yourself—that you are able to make competent choices when you confront the situations of real life--that you are able to make your own way as persons in a complex society. You can be proud of your heritage and confident of your ability. May real success be yours. Congratu- lations ! Sincerely, Von C. Lauer, Assistant Superintendent 4 VON. C. LAUER, Assistant Superintendent
