E. A. —Those initials have graced the many different pages of this produc- tion at some time or another. Who do they stand for? They stand for the one re- sponsible for seeing that we, the annual staff, completed the task we set out to do in September. It was she who held us together when we wondered whether or not it was worth it; and from her experience, we benefited greatly—Mrs. Elizabeth Ahrens, journalist, teacher oi the class, without whom you would not be reading this page or holding an annual right now. It was hers and our purpose in this endeavor to produce an annual that would be remembered by all in the years to come; and that it be of such quality to be enjoyed by all. We, the journalism class and annual staff of 1973, dedicate this publication to her for the assistance and excellent guidance in these hours of our labors.

You have the distinction of being the first class to graduate from Sabetha High School after having had all of your high school training in the new Sabetha Senior High School. You are to be congratulated. Society is changing rapidly. Education is one of the intangibles that can be measured only after the product has had time to be established. This means that the class of 1973, individually and collectively, will make their mark, but only on tomorrow's society. It would be my hope that those of us responsible for your education have made things flexible enough that each of you locate your place in life and have happiness as you achieve your goal. Opportunity is abundant. Change is ap- pearing everywhere. Much of it is good. Be discerning in your selection of what is best for you. Be an active participant in whatever you believe. Success in life should be measured in happiness and fulfillment through achievement. The greatest gift the school and home can bestow upon you is a positive and healthy conscience. A positive conscience will help you achieve life's goals. I commend our senior class this year for their contri- butions to school in attitude and leadership.
