National Honor Society NHS has several plans underway and among them is the sponsoring of an assembly for the high school students. We have written to Dr. Kenneth McFarland, a nationally known speaker from Topeka. If he ac- cepts, we will open the assembly to the public and may ask some neighboring schools' National Honor Chapters to come. We plan to give a scholarship (un- known amount) to some senior who plans to go to col- lege. Also, it is possible that we will organize an aca- demic banquet to be held this spring. Kayettes The Kayettes have been busy this year in the school, community, national, and world levels of the Kayette program. For school service we had a bleacher clean-up, did various things to welcome the students, and did numerous services for the teachers. We also were in charge of the Christmas Dance. On the Community level we tutored grade school children, went caroling, and made favors for the hospital and rest homes. We held a cake drawing for CARE and also a voting promotion campaign. Kayettes also sponsored a carnival and a walk athon for cerebral palsy and meals for million. We financed our activities with two successful bake sales. Kayettes closed the year with the Annual Mother-Daughter Ban- quet and Installation. 21 Kayette Board
