Rosenholtz, K. Schmit The 1968-69 season was Stony Brook's first in the Metro- politan Squash Association. With Sophomores in third, fourth and fifth positions, the team finished with a fine 7-3 record in second place behind an undefeated Stevens Tech team. The final season record was 7-9 with the usual losses to MlT, Trinity, Wesleyan, F8tM, West Point, and Rochester. Captain Steve Chow represented the Patriots in the Stevens Invitational Tournament and lost to the Metropolitan Cham- pion in the semi-finals. Steve was ioined by sophomores Mike Barkan, Chris Clark and Joe Burden for Stony Brook's first participation in the National Intercollegiate Singles Champion- ships at Yale. Although none of the four won matches, they performed creditably. Steve Chow defeated Kenny Glassberg for the team tour- nament championship and won the Most Valuable Player Award for the second consecutive year. l58 .l. -.

Swimming The 1968-69 season proved to be the best yet for Coach e's swimming team. They finished with a 6-7 overall ord and a 6-1 record in the conference. This strong wing enabled Stony Brook to finish second place in the nference. Spurred on by this win, Coach Lee's men tered the Metropolitan Swimming Championships for first time. As a tribute to the team's strength and spirit, y won an unexpected second place victory. ll in all, the swimmers broke seven varsity records. s fine showing is a good sendoff for swimmers Peter ley, David Gersh, Rocky Cohen, and Paul Epstein, team's captain for four years. The outlook for next is good and the team should have its best year ever. the help of Bob Maestre, Bob Davidson and Paul ie, members of our record-breaking relay team, Pats will have what it takes to be a winning team.
