April 8, 1976 Well, it ' s all over now, and I am very thankful for that. If I had to do it all over again, I would have done it all different, and I ' m kind of glad I didn ' t. The Historical Section, I ' m proud of, and special thanks go to Laura, Pam and Wilma. The senior section, compiled by Carol Phinney, I ' ve yet to see and I pray that it came out as well as we had planned, and even then, only you can be the judge of that. Looking at the opposite page, in one glance, will tell the reader that Steve Cowper needs no introduction, his work is the book, with few exceptions. Lynn Bodwell, Steve ' s friend, is also seen throughout the book by her excellent layouts and copy arrangements. Both Marilyn Nagy and Cynthia Weiss should be given special commendation awards for insuffer- able odds. Marilyn for her Sports section, which, as last year is very well done, and Cynthia for her Entertainment section, where pictures were harder to find than a needle in a haystack. Patty Harrison, the ogre of the finance board, I must thank for keeping me within my budget and even spending less than what we had . . . and that ' s something for me! My real appreci- ation goes to Bill Sloane, our publisher ' s representative, which, without whose help, this book would not be here. Dr. and Mrs. C. D. Marshall of Swanton, Vermont kept my sanity intact, at least as much as it will ever be, and I sincerely thank them for that. Mary-Beth, Carol and a good bottle of gin get my next notes of appreciation, without any of which it would have been more difficult to put out this book. And last, but least of all least, I thank the students of Pitts- burgh, 750 of which signed up for senior portraits, and several thousand of which bought this book, expressing an interest in their years at Pittsburgh and with whom I ' ve shared many memories.
