Redcay He has been in residence at our college for nigh on to thirty years, during which time he has worn s uch diversified hats as that of the Dean of Men (1937-52), Coach of the Basketball Team (1936-42), Acting President (1952-54), Treasurer of the Student Association and from 1961 on. Coordinator of the honors program for talented students. Working with his special ' sixth sense he has ontinued to instill in students a deep pride and a sense of individuality. His forthright and warm guidance, devotion to high ideals, and his untiring help, often at the sacrifice of his own personal desires, has given him a place in the hearts of all students. Never once losing faith in those with whom he worked and advised, he has given a bit of himself to us all, touch- ing each lightly with immor- tality. And so, we the staff of Cardinal ' 69, and the entire student body, respectfully, and fondly, dedicate this yearbook to you, Doc Redcay, wishing you great happiness in your retirement. An Outstretched Hand Each of us was made by God and some of us grew (all. Others stood out in the wind their branches bent and fell. Those of us who walk in light must help the ones in darkness up For that ' s what life is all about and love is all there is to life. Each of us was made by God beautiful in His mind ' s eye. Those of us thai turned out sound should look across our shoulders once and help the weak ones to their feet. It only takes an outstretched hand. It holds memories of many hours spent in the planning and the carrying out of the editing of this book. I only hope that this book is as special to you as it is to me. This yearbook is the same and yet different from the yearbooks before it. Plattsburgh State is a place where minds and hearts meet. It is the buildings that compose it and the trees and flowers around it. Most important, it is our memories of events and happenings, students and teachers.
