September 9 — 22 THE FIGURE INTE RNATIONAL New York State Council on the Arti Exhibitions American Federation of Ar+s A selection of small paintings, drawings and watercolors by artists whose primary concern has been the human figure. Among the artists represented in this collection are: Dubuffet, Goodnough, Matta, and Larry Rivers. September 27 — October 7 PRINTS AND DRAWINGS FROM THE PERMANENT COLLECTION Lithographs, etchings, woodcuts, and engravings which form the nucleus of the College ' s Permanent Art Collection will be shown in exhibition for the first time. October 12 — November 2 TWENTY SOUTH AMERICAN ARTISTS American Federation of Arts A traveling exhibition selected from the second American Art Biennial which was held in 1964 at the University of Cordoba, Argentina. Works by artists representing six South American countries including Argentina, Chile, Columbia. Peru. Uraguay, and Veneiuela will be shown in this exhibition. November 5 — 17 DESIGNS FOR THE THEATRE BY LEWIS BROWN An exhibition of original costum e sketches designed by Mr. 8rown for the 1965 production of The Caucasian Chalk Circle at the Tyrone Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota. November 22 — December 13 AFRICAN SCULPTURE The Segy Gallery, New York A group of thirty sculptures which were originally conceived as objects of magic and ritual from the art-producing tribes of West Africa. These sculptures may be examined for their powerful aesthetic qualities which have long been recognized and accepted by western artists and critics. January 5 — 20 DAVID ROUTON A one-man exhibition of paintings and drawings in which sub- ject matter is dominated by the human figure. Mr. Routon is an assistant professor of art at Plattsburgh State University College. January 25 — February 8 JOSEPH HENNESSY Welded metal sculptures and constructions will be seen in this one-man exhibition. Mr. Hennessy is an associate pro- fessor of art at Plattsburgh State University College. February 13 — March 6 SPECIAL EXHIBITION March 10—25 WILLIAM CROSBY Paintings and drawings In a one-man exhibition by Mr. Crosby, assistant professor of art at Plattsburgh State University College- April I — 30 KOKOSCHKA: KING LEAR, APULIAN JOURNEY. HELLAS SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION Graphics have commanded much of Kokoschka ' s attention throughout his long and productive life. Three recently com- pleted sets of lithographs demonstrate the continued impor- tance of this expressive medium in the Austrian artist ' s work. May 4 — 23 JEWELRY ' 66 Objects for personal adornment designed by artists and craftsmen of the United States. This exhibition result from a national competition originated at Plattsburgh State Uni- versity College.
