A college year is a time when through timid beginnings and confident returnings, through daily good times and heartaches, through tears and cheers, we question, explore, analyze, answer, abandon and remold. Realizing this enables us to become aware of both its surface and subtle contributions to our lives. We feel, then, that it is fitting to take full advantage of each of these years, to learn from it and to remember it, both for itself and for its in- fluence on what we each become. This book is a glimpse at, and a memory of, a college year. We present it as it happened . . .

Class v s ■„ W September 13, 1961 — Residence halls open for freshman at noon and for some five hundred twenty- five enthusiastic, uninitiated and some what apprehen- sive members of the class of 1965, the first of their college yars has begun. Registration, picnics, dances, faculty receptions and the association with upperclass- men gave the freshman their first glimpse of a college year, a glimpse that resulted in organization. Their of- ficers were elected and the class of ' 65 emerged from this beginning as a working unit ready to make their contribution to this college year.
