To foster the ideals of SUC-Oswego, to promote the intellectual, cultural, and social life of the fraternity man, to provide a sus- tained awareness of the gentlemanly conduct in keeping with the high standards of the college -these are the aims ofthe lnterfra- ternity Council, composed of three representatives from each of the six fraternities. The Council promotes and co-ordinates such inter-fraternity activities as lVlRA Intramurals, participation in tl'e college weekends - the parades, the Greek Games, the poster contests, and aiding in the Intersorority-Council-sponsored Blood- mobile. INTERSORORITY COUNCIL lntersorority Council, made up of representatives of all the sororities on campus, acts as a coordinating body in which the seven sororities can discuss mutual problems concerning the various facets of campus and sorority life. The council sponsors various campus activities, in- cluding the Bloodmobile, Christmas House Decorating, and the Easter Seal Drive. To encourage intellectual accomplishment and sound schol- arship the council annually offers a trophy to the sorority maintaining the highest index. 86

VEGA Vega has been founded forthe purpose of honoring those senior women who have shown their loyalty to their college by giving their service and leadership to the advancement of its interests, welfare, and unity, and of stimulating scho- larship and participation in extracurricular activities. From these activities Vega has derived its motto: Leadership, Scholarship, Service. It is these qualities upon which spring elections to the honorary are based. This year Vega's main goal was to establish a Freshman Women's Honorary to re- cognize treshmen women who exhibit outstanding ability. By so doing, Vega hopes to instill an attitude of scholar- ship, as well as leadership and service on the campus. 88
