The sprints and broad jump were handled by Isaacs, Gould, DeSoto, and Spaller, while Walters, Nazarian, Schaal and Meyerhoefer ran the middle distances and relays. Eipps and Hassler provided the mainstays in the hurdles, and Davis Van Essendelft carried the burden in the mile and two-mile runs. The team's basic weakness proved to be a lack of depth in the field events, but Cousins and Nacht handled the shotput, Opdyke and Cousins threw the discus, and Hassler was the lone high jumper. The big spear was thrown for the Lakers by Gould, Parker, and Eipps. The team ultimately compiled a two-win and three-loss record. Although both of their dual meets ended in defeat, the 1964 Frosh Lakers possessed a high degree of drive and ambition. Several members of the freshman team did well in their first collegiate competition and they should add much needed talent and strength to the 1965 team.

FIRST ROW: H. Schwartz, S. Ort, C. Drake. SECOND ROW: Coach George Crowe, T. Hay, H. Edelst- ein, I. Rosen, R. Gibbs. TENNIS The 1964 tennis team accumulated a five-win-four- loss record and also battled its way to a respectable fourth place in the New York State College tourna- ment. Ron Gibbs maintained the best individual record, his being a record of eight wins and one loss for the season's dual meet competition. These fine records definitely put Oswego back on the winning track in the tennis world as the Laker team improves every year. The return of several veterans and seven sopho- mores, who weren't allowed to play varsity last year be- cause they were freshman, should provide tremendous inter-squad competition. The 1965 tennis team prom- ises to be the best ever. .4 - T4 .. ..4....
