ALPHA I SIG IVIA CH I The sisters of Alpha Sigma Chi participated in philanthropic proj- ects including volunteer work at the Oswego Health Center, working for Community Chest, and aiding the Bloodmobile drive. The sisters have also been campaigning on both the national and local levels. The sisters began the year with great enthusiasm at Greek Games. A cotfee hour was held for fraternal organizations. lVluch cooperation and spirit were evident in the annual Poster Contest competition in the fall, the Float Parade in the spring, and the Campus Chest drive. An honorary tea was held for the purpose of in- ducting new honoraries and show- ing recognition to faculty members affiliated with the sorority. Highlighting the year was the Cinderella Ball for the new mem- bers ot the sorority and the Spring Formal to honor the seniors. Kimmel. 2-M ' ARETH USA ETA W ' The spirit of the sisters in green and white blazers was evident throughout the school year. Stressing friendship, coopera- tion, and the development of character, the sisters endeavor to promote the highest cultural, intellectual and social achieve- ments. A growing attachment to an adopted Na- vajo Indian girl, Betty Flores, has promoted the establishment of several fund-raising ac- tivities such as a bake sale and a candy sale to support the child. The donation of a Thanksgiving dinner to a welfare family in Oswego and the adoption of a family for Christmas are among Arethusa's communi- ty projects. Participation in and the support of Greek and non-Greek activities on campus has been Arethusa's undertaking this and every year. For it is through working together and sharing responsibilities that the true mean- ing of sisterhood has been realized. FIRST ROW: C. Ascoli, C. VanBeveran, N. Weeks, G. VanPutte, K. Brattesani.
