The purposes of the Student Education Association of New York State, or SEANYS, are to acquaint students preparing to teach with the organized teach- ing profession and to provide members with opportunities for practical experi- ence in working on problems of the profession and of the community. Through local chapter and state meetings SEANYS attempts to foster professional unity within local, state and national organizations. Sheldon Chapter, affiliated with the state SEANYS organization of some thir- ty chapters, is a leader in the state, having led the state and nation in mem- bership in recent years, and in active participation in local and state programs. Sheldon Chapter has held all the state offices including the state presidency twice. Currently, a local chapter member is state vice-president. 110 S.E.A.N.Y.S

LAKESHORE AMATEUR RADIO CLUB The purpose of the Lakeshore Amateur Radio Club is to promote interest in the subject of amateur radios for the students on campus and the residents of Oswego. Activi- ties include participating in civil de- fense drills, relaying messages, and holding weekly meetings at which club activities are discussed, mov- ies shown, talks on radio theory are given, and demonstrations on new phases of electronics are held. INDUSTRIAL ARTS CLUB The Industrial Arts Club is a professional or- ganization affiliated with the American Industri- al Arts Association. The aims of the club are to further interest in industry and technology, to supplement classroom information through the use of programs from industry and the field of education, to create interest in the professional Industrial Arts education organizations, and to stimulate discussion relevant to the future of Industrial Arts education.
