The campus was increased by the purchase of up- wards of seventy acres by tl1e City of Oneonta and the friends of the school. The Main Building was adapted to new uses and to a wider social life for the students. There were new curricula in the prep- aration of teachers :for the elementary schools ,V the de- partment of home economics, the program of Graduate Studies, the specialization in early childhood education were added. The dormitory and the Student Union were built, the home economics building was begun. The library profited by a grant which Dr. Hunt secured from the Carnegie Corporation. The faculty was enlarged. Needs of individuals were not neglected. For example, we may point with pride to the operation of the hospitalization plan and the group fire insurance for students, both of which were pioneer ventures initiated by Dr. Hunt. His work for teacher education stretches far beyond Oneonta. He has served as Secretary- Treasurer of the American Association of Col- leges for Teacher Education and its predecessor organization since 1928. He was a prime mover in the biannual School for Executives f'i.e., for presidents of teachers collegesj. He attended
