MISS MARGARET NOEL For though the days be never so long. At last the bells rinqeth to evensongf' -Stephen Hawkes The faculty and students of Fredonia lost a sincere friend with the death of Miss Margaret Noel on February 6, 1945. Miss Noel was born in Winchester, Kentucky, and entered into the teach- ing proiession in her early teens. This work occupied thirty-seven years oi her life. twenty-four oi which were spent in Fredonia. One of the most brilliant personages on the faculty, she was honest and sincere in all her undertakings. A tireless worker in school, spending hours writing recommendations for student teachers and keeping in placements. The students of recent years will no doubt remember her best by her capable direction oi the drives sponsored by the training school. Those which she organized and carried out were the drives for scrap metal. milk weed pods, clothing for refugees. tin and paper. A number oi articles written by this teacher and friend have been publish- ed in Educational magazines. Very few know oi these articles because ol the unassuming quality the author possessed. The Fredonian is proud to claim Miss Noel as one oi its own. For many years she acted as faculty advisor ior our yearbook and worked unceasingly for the betterment of this publication. It is hard to do iustice to human qualities such as hers. She was always doing good, her good deeds are numerous and the spirit which prompted them was unseliish and sincere. We will all remember her as we last saw her-hard working and loyal to the education ot mankind.
