Our crosscountry team is traditionally strong and annually focuses national attention on this little college in the Schoharie Valley. Other teams enjoy varying degrees of favor from the ever-fickle Cobleskill sports fan. The VOICE is pleased to present the men and women who gave us this year’s athletic program. 94 L to R: P. I Joe Pasquini, senior in Agronomy, personifies everything that is good about Cobleskill. Many freshmen looking for a friendly smile and handshake last fall got their first ones from Joe. He has served the college through Orange Key, Phi Theta Kappa, Varsity Club and as a Residence Assistant. We salute Joe Pasquini and the high ideals he represents. 194 I I Jane Henion is one of Cobleskill's free, blithe spirits. A genuine person in every sense of the word, Jane established herself on campus as a member of Orange Key, Student Government and the Agronomy Club. Visitation Days have been very successful this year; we now have open dormitories; and the Agronomy Club had its best series of programs in years. We think that speaks highly of the efforts of Jane Henion. 195 196 Professor Paul Blair, dynamic member of the Plant Science faculty burst upon the Cobleskill scene three years ago and things have beon happening ever since. Active in campus life both in and out of the classroom. Mr. Blair set the Cobleskill pace this year by developing the.first trip abroad for students and faculty of this campus. If you happen to be passed by a dynamo v ith a mustache, it will probably be Mr. Blair just out pacesetting. Mrs. Dorcas Frisbie, the smiling secretary in Bouck Hall, is one of the outstanding members of the College staff. Her kindness, charm, hospitality and understanding arc well known. Any regular visitor to Bouck comes to know and adore Mrs. Frisbie, and no one is more deserving of the affection. 197 J k cac a eefcq o concetti ... create a sense oi involve-Vdovy do ou laYc a sna'l upstete New XorY campus n o a cenlet o n Yionnl ellenYion) lVa was tee qoal and Wenl o Carol Hotentter vd Mark Lwderman Wj led us te aaoteet record-WeaVmq Blood Drive Steve Jaffe could be colled Cobleskill's Mr. Activity. Total involvement with campus life has been Steve's commitment since his first day here. His scho'arly attitude and zany sense of humor have mode him a figure recognizable to all members of the campus community. Participation in Litt'e Theater. Phi Theta Kappa, Orange Key and residence hall government has earned Steve a pace among our 1970 Pacesetters. 200 Dorinda Campbell went striding confidently into a faculty meeting and told that sophisticated assemblage to get down to the Gym and bleed a little for the Campus Blood Drive. That kind of spirit, usually accompanied by snapping eyes and a quick smile, have helped this petite coed take many bulls by the horns. One of the motivating forces in this year's Student Government, Dorinda spearheaded the proposal for open dormitories. Professor Kenneth Olcott is a man who does things. He led the development of a statewide organisation of Collegiate Agricultural Leaders. Long recognized by students for his teaching ability. Mr. Olcott consistently gives of himself to help his students in any way possible. Professor Patricia Nevins encompasses you with her friendly smile and warm heart. The Nursery Education students could never do without her enthusiasm for life and appreciation for the world around us. Say hello when you see her. She's a Cobleskill pacesetter. 203 Articulate ... challenging ... demanding ... concerned. All are words which could properly describe PrnfpQQnr John Grosvenor, Cobleskili's one-man Art Department. For years Mr. Grosvenor has tried to develop an appreciation for the fine arts among his students. We thought it was time we said ihank You. Mr. Douglas Long sits in his cement block office off the Game Room and generates a whirlwind of activity that reaches the farthest corners of the campus. As Assistant Director of Student Activities Mr. Long prodded the usually sluggish Student Union Board into the creation of Cobleskill's first, and highly successful, Fall Weekend. We believe most students would be hard pressed to keep pace w;th Mr. Long. 205 AW Gloria Bundy Mary Campion Bruce Carroll Richard Gleason Joseph Kosty Mary Jane O'Neil Douglas Ruling Carolyn Salvatore Ann Seaward Thomas Weller 207 EDITOR'S PAGE r of the VO'Ch wo have tried fa capture in picture and y What Ccbieskill Is.
