Division Chairmen BUSINESS—WILLIAM BROPIIY (B.S., M.S., SU, Albany) The Accounting, Business Administration, Data Processing and Secretarial Science programs provide the student an opportunity to prepare for employment in the field of business, which offers interesting and productive careers. 'Hie possibilities for transfer are excellent for those students interested. NURSERY EDUCATION —JEAN C. EMERSON (B.S., Cornell University; M.S., SU, Oswego) Through observation, study, and participation in the various phases of the Nursery Education program, students develop a basic understanding of a child’s growth and development. Practical experience is gained by work in the nursery school laboratory, George Ryder Elementary' School, and a two-week field orientation. AGRICULTURE- HOWARD SIDNEY (B.S., M.A., Cornell University) The new Agricultural Complex provides modern laboratories and facilities for Cobleskill students. The broad curriculum selection offers students op|x rtunities in Animal Science, Ornamental Horticulture and Agronomy for both production positions and careers in related occupations. Agricultural Engineering Technology, Dairy and Food Science, and Agricultural Business curriculums arc available for students interested in positions in the manufacturing, service, and sales areas of the agricultural industry. Approximately 40% of the people employed in the United States are in agriculture and agriculturally related work. There are unlimited opportunities and positions open for agricultural graduates. FOOD SERVICE ADMINISTRATION—ADA V. FEI.CI1 (B.S., Middlcbury College; M.A., Columbia University) Food Service Administration focuses on the public hospitality industry and offers options in Restaurant and Institutional Food Management. Courses in quantity foods, supervision and management arc based on fo xl science and nutrition. They are augmented by experience in the Margaret E. Prentice Dining Hall laboratories, field work and summer employment. GENERAL EDUCATION—EI.BRIDGE M. SMITH (A.B., Drew University; M.A., SU, Albany; C.A.S., Syracuse University) General Education courses help the student to appreciate aspects of life that go beyond the concerns of occupational competency. Through contact with stimulating ideas and actions in the humanities, the sciences, physical education, and the social sciences the student is helped to develop himself as a person in a democratic society. 12
