student council The Student Council is a representative group elected by the students. It consists of nine members, four Juniors and four Seniors equally representing the Home Economics and Agriculture divisions and the Senior Class President who is a member l y virtue of his office. The Council, whose pmjjosc is to supervise student activities and to assist in solving student problems, was, in 1951, successful in serving a wide range of student interests. Their important activities included the allocation of a $6000 budget among the athletic and service groups on campus, the opening and equipping of a new Recreation Room adjacent to the Trading Post, and the provision for moral supjxn t of athletic events off the Mill by arranging for transportation. By their excellence of leadership the members ol the Student Council set the lone for all Institute activities. [13]
