When prices fell, the forward-looking agriculturists began to plan for the nation's economic future. Opportunities were offered to the future farmer. Agricultural courses in high school and agricultural colleges effected great changes in the American farmer. With these changes came increased enrollment at the New York State Agricultural School at Cobleskill. Many opportunities in varied fields opened to them, from Federal appointments to farm superintendents. In 1938, new courses were introduced to keep pace with progressing economic developments. Today the graduates of N. Y. S. S. A. are fully qualified to enter the agricultural field as leaders and builders of the future agricultural industry. I ?4 | FARMERS

Front Row—Burdick, Forguton, Rojmor. Socond Row—Milne. Hirichficld. McNary. Dlugou, Norton. On the first of November, we, the Special Students, entered State School, being the third Special Student Class to enter. In the beginning of our course we numbered fifteen. At our first meeting we elected our class officers for the year. For President, Christopher Gaule; Vice-President, Gilbert Polley; Secretary, Lewis Benson; and Treasurer, Frank Burdick. For our Student Council Representative we selected Herman Rejmer. Mr. Wheeler was chosen for our Class Adviser. In the annual Parly Pro speaking contest Christopher H. Gaule won third place and received a medal for his efforts. Most of our members participated in the school activities: namely, basketball, band, choir, fraternities and Voice. Our course was completed at the end of March with a commencement in the assembly. Our class speaker was Herman Rejmer and his topic was entitled Over the Threshold . Certificates were presented by Mr. Champlain to all who completed the course. As we pass on we wish to thank the faculty for their help both in classes and on the outside, the students for their aid and for the good times which we have had here at school. We will always remember the days at State and the friends we have made. We wish to thank Mr. Wheeler for his interest in our class and his help in making it such a successful one throughout the year.
