The foundation was made by Mr. George Butler and his agriculture students. Members of the Pep Club participated in fund raising activities to collect money for materials. The rock was donted by Mr. Ray Dockery, and the labor was done by Mr. Russell Sanders. The Pep Club sponsor, Mr. Ed Brown, assembled memorabilia from the 1985-1986 school year for a time capsule. Mr. Brown placed the capsule in the sign before its completion.
