The Rams were then stopped by Roland 12 to 5 but not before sending seven men to bat and scoring 3 runs in the last inning. Then did they bow out. They kept up that never say die spirit until the last out was made. This spirit is what kept Ruthven in the game and entitled them to go as far as they did. Bill Whiting did most of the pitching with Frank Mason in on the stop jobs. The Rams went to the finals of sub-state in the summer. They were beaten by Algona.
