It was only their first year at Central, but the freshmen cheerleaders backed our ath letic program like old pros. At every game the freshmen football and basketball teams had an enthusiastic and spirited cheerleading squad behind them all the way. These girls participated in pep rallies, held a record throw on fair day, and rode in the homecoming parade. Led by captain Carrie Gil- bert, the freshmen cheer- leaders were an active and important group at Central.
