FEBRUARY Diary Dear, Someone had to sneak in a bottle of evil smell- ing stuff in Spanish today. -Quentin Hyatt made quite a fuss over it, even though he's not in the class. When he opened the door the second time he didn't know Mr. Moore was inside. What is there about Van Johnson that sends us gals? Good old Washington, he picked the right day to be born on . . . I certainly needed a rest. Had my senior picture taken, first spent hours posing in the mirror, still have hopes that Mr.' Conover may run out of gorgeous models and be satisfied with poor little me. Was minding my own business and crossing El- liot when a bang nearly bowled me over-don't think l'II ever get used to those Motorcycles. MARCH Dear Diary, Instead of counting sheep I just recite a little Shakespeare, am not too bad considering Lizzie in homeroom. Simply adore that man Rehner . Gave a tongue lashing that would put even our teachers to shame -lthe topic was behavior in assembly I. Wonder if Miss Wake lays awake nights think- ing up fiendish ways to get the curl out of my hair igym outside in March, brrl. Noticed the unusual long faces- on Irene and Joan today, lsenior essays I thinkl. APRIL Happy Easter Diary, The Dawn Service at the College was really love- ly. A surprising amount of -chemistry students showed up . . . iwonder if J. J. bribed theml. Have suddenly realized why Jack never misses Spanish any more ihave you seen the new Span- ish teacherll. Ah patience is a virtue I'm finding out, waited till I felt like a stage door Johnny to get Ered- rick March's autograph-he's wonderful IA Bell for Adano isn't bad eitherl. Though I never met our President I feel as if l'v lost a very close friend. MAY Diary Dear, Maudie started something with that raw carrot -iall the vegetarian are saying- I told you so I . Wahlers had an unusual rush of business this A M, so l'm told, when six individuals in our class were elected to the National Honor Society Of course I knew that sudden fame wasn't meant for me lhuh Miss Ely?I. Mr. Charles W. Ray, well known humorist, gave each student in his 'P. A. D. classes a check for 53,500 lnot worth the paper it's written onl. The idea is to dabbte with stock-quite a dabble I took-am coming out only S50 short! Such confusion-but finally it has come-this day of days, V-E Day. Gosh, l'm thankful that war is over but can never really celebrate until V-J Day. Peeked into 303 to see how the yearbook staff was coming along-that wise guy editor and art staff gave out with a big and where will you be in December? Those unlucky mortals who kept putting off senior essays are going to get it soon il should care, I'm in English ZI. V Never turn on a green light, I mean if it's at an intersection and the green light is on-now they tell me about the motor vehicle test. JUNE Dear Diary, May flowers bring June graduates--lif only Mrs. Iverson passes my Algebral. Doesn't seem possible that the year is almost over. Our genial Miss Butler almost put me out of the library today-ll still think that room should be sound proofedl. Mary Jane Bornick gave a pretty 'hot rendition cf Boogie Woogie in gym today. Mrs. Ross's geom class nearly went wild. I know l'll trip or do something silly and I'll feel so awkward in that cap and gown at the Rivoli. Oh, how I wish that day were over. Dear Diary, I Into each life some rain must fall-guess mine tell on June I9. Gosh, I wish all the kids lots of luck, happiness and success. 5

by STUFF SEPTEMBER Dear Diary, After two years of bowing and scraping to up- perclassmen I too became a senior. Back once again in my all girl homeroom land still missing the boysl I proudly displayed my painfully ac- quire tan. My program was changed only three times. Oh for the life of a boy, imagine getting out of school iust because a little old hurricane blew some trees down! I laughed so hard I thought l'd die, imagine- Vincent Jones trying to give an oral report with- out the use of his hands, lMiss Fletcher didn't give upl. Our first cheerleading assembly was really hep, but l'm afraid the faculty didn't approve too much, oh well boys, will be boys. I knew we'd do it lmaybe it was my cheering as l'm hoarse todayl. We beat Lyndhurst ZI -6. GCTOBER Dear Diary, Things have really been poppingthis week, 4th of July was never like this-real bombs too! The mysteries of an operating room were slow- ly unfolded today. Mr. Carpenter got quite a kick out of my squeamishness and the faces Audre made, but this was our first disection . . . what is there about grasshoppers? There's something about Halloween that makes me feel so primitive. Hope Pop Kern doesn't find out who took the bench off his front lawn . . . oh well I didn't need the five points any- way. ' Blue Day, -Rutherford 7-Hackensack IZ. Had a spelling test today,' they tell me that no pass-no grad , be seeing you next year, dear R. H. S. NOVEMBER Dear Diary, Election time, must be something about Dewey that almost makes Dottie stand on soap boxes. Certainly not his mustache! g What fun, we held a make believe election in school today, Ithe riot squad was not needed, much to my disappointmentl You should have seen it, Warren Ferris, walk- ing into Spanish with High Heels on . . . seems he lost a bet! No comments to make on today's Thanksgiving ball game. The theme this week is what l'm thankful for, as if one, R.H.S. has answered, that l'm an American . Took me I0 minutes to discover who was under all the bandages, Charles Bothner with his chem- icals lat least l'm careful when I mix things.l DECEMBER Darling Diary, They tell me that a vacation is coming, l'm so exhausted that the full meaning of the word has yet to penetrate. Well, 203 still looks and sounds like a busy beauty parlor, the gossip is what I like best. Seems that the Junior boys have something we never noticed before lwho-,said the Senior girls? l He asked me--my dream man--to the Christ- mas Ball. I don't think I can live TiI Then , after all it is the biggest affair of the year, and formal too. Have searched the mirror to see if my age is showing . . . think I still can pass for sixteen. Have been awfully busy this vacation, my job, the Christmas Ball and the Martin's wonderful New Year's Eve party. . 1 JANUARY Dear Diary, Some day l shall write a book on Why to join the Fire Brigade . The post 'by Mr. tmustachel Kirkendall's room, with its gently wafted smell, is the perfect place to learn. I demand a recount, it simply can't be time for report cards, I haven't prepared my folks yet. You never saw.anything like it, Eleanor Pierce added another patch to her gym suit, pretty soon she'lI be patching the patches.
