'Twas an event, we all agree, To charge the door of R.H.S, What the next three years would be No one dared to take a guess. The senior's comments on our size Made us mad right from the first, Those football he-men brought great sighs, And slacks ban made us fit to burst. g Miss Parks' tiring Danish arm swing Sent the girls in giggle gales. She would stand there, at them glowering, With her bloomers out like sails. Christmas holidays loomed near But Pearl Harbor broke the spell. We learned that liberty is dear And all out war is truly hell. Yet through the year we slid undaunted 'Til the winter turned to spring. Senior girls then felt unwanted, For we sophomores had our fling. Commencement came with a startled bang! The seniors reminisced with tears. Out the Alma Mater rang, And we had only two more years. Alas, alas, the in-betweens We were soon to find. But back we went to schoolroom scenes, And the old familiar grind. A face we missed was that of Bill, A really reg'lar guy.
